The Association of Progressive Youth of Liberia(APYL) efforts to effectively meet the needs of those marginalized by substance abuse, against this backdrop, it has adapted its approach to a community based participatory programs on substance abuse.. The Association of Progressive Youth of Liberia (APYL) with Headquarters in 44 Carey Street , has been implementing programmes in 3 counties (Marigibi & Montserrado and Bomi) since its establishment in 2010 reaching thousand indirectly and directly hundreds of most vulnerable substance abusers ,youths, women ,girls and families.The Association of Progressive Youth of Liberia (APYL ) endeavour (campaigns or projects) supports or compliments the Government of Liberia Poverty Reduction Strategy (PRS) and MDG.
The Association of Progressive Youth (APYL) of Liberia is a non-profit organization registered under the laws of Liberia. This institution is dedicated to the quality of life for all youth in Liberia and various communities at large by training and teaching youth-related activities, through a gender-friendly means with a focus on strengthening the building of capacity of youths, families, and community and assist underprivileged and deprived people affected by the circumstances cause by substance abuse, disasters, and war respectively. In a further development, as a not-for-profit and non- governmental organization established to transform the lives of those being marginalized by the substance abuse; targeted beneficiaries are engaged and recruited and enrolled into composite drug program, recreational activities ( sports etc) and finally, providing them reintegration with emphasis on skills development, and other basic livelihood training. The skills training are provided for women, girls and vulnerable to improve their livelihood.
