IDAD

The Institute for Democratic Action & Development (IDAD) is an independent, not-for-profit policy research and advocacy organization with the goal to promote Natural Resource Governance, democratic governance and health awareness and advocacy in Liberia. It is a Liberian policy advocacy organization that seeks to channel voices of Liberian citizens through community’s dialogues and advocacy. IDAD strives to link communities to the overall governance framework in order to engender a culture of local participation in policy development and implementation.
DAD further seeks to contribute to the “establishment of a just and free society” that is democratic and prosperous. IDAD is committed to work for the consolidation of democratic governance within and beyond the boundaries of Liberia Consequently, IDAD is conceptualized to function as the leading center of excellence, delivering cutting edge services relevant to the empowerment of citizens and enhancement of their ability to sustain democratic governance and equitable development. To the founders of IDAD, the impact of democratic governance on the transformation of the hitherto authoritarian and underdeveloped post-colonial African states, economies, and societies was clear.
