The Drug Policy Coalition of Liberia -DPCL is a consortium of registered Civil Society Organizations in Liberia established by Alumnus of the West Africa Executive Course on Human Rights & Drug Policy supported by Open Society Initiative for West Africa, University of Ghana School of Law, and funded by the Open Society Foundation.

 

Drug Policy Coalition of Liberia is a national umbrella organization and the lead campaigner for Drug Policy Reform in Liberia.  DPCL comprises of civil society organizations that are also members of the West Africa Drug Policy Network (WADPN) and the International Society of Substance Use Professionals (ISSUP) advocating and promoting drug policies that are evidence-based, data-driven that take into account public health and human rights in Liberia.

 

WHAT WE DO:

 

LDPC develop, implement, and manage programs and projects that are built on four fundamental pillars also known as RAAC Agenda.

  2. Advocacy

  3. Awareness

  4. Capacity Building

 

DPCL advocate and create awareness for the popularization and domestication of the Model Drug Law for West Africa, decriminalization of drug laws and policy, collect, analyze and provides qualitative and quantitative data that are vital and imperative to drug prevention, treatment, care and support in Liberia.

 

Drug Policy Coalition of Liberia  provides opportunity locally and internationally for its CSOs to build and strengthen their capacity

 

OBJECTIVES:

 

  • To enhance advocacy on drug policy reforms in Liberia;

  • To popularize and advocate for the domestication of the Model Drug Law for West Africa

  • To promote and advocate for the decriminalization of drug law and policy in Liberia;

  • To equip CSOs with skills, knowledge, conviction, confidence, and methods of effectively fighting drug abuse and illicit trafficking by promoting evidence-based drug prevention, treatment, and human rights;

  • To increase information sharing and accessibility among the coalition members, strategic allies, the general public on drug policy reform.
